"DEER LADY ON THE LAM"

BY JOHNENE TUNGL

Artist, single mom, triple amputee. Johnene was born and raised in metro Detroit, then moved to Denver to attend A.I. Colorado in 2004. Graduated in 2008 with a B.A. in photography. Then in 2017 she lost both legs and her left arm to a bone infection. She has been creating art since high school. Everything from photomontages, to making jewelry, to painting. After her amputations she painted to keep herself sane. She has been selling her art for more than a decade. Between 2017-2020 she painted hundreds of paintings, and sold over 200. Then in 2020 she had her first child, Indigo, and 99% of her time went to her. Ask any first time parent if it’s easy. Now imagine you only have your right arm, but she does it all. Now Indigo is almost 3 and Johnene is finding time to paint again. Support her by buying a painting! @nenecreates333 or nenecreates.com
